We believe that all sixty-six books of the Bible are verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings and serve as the final authority for the Christian faith and practice (Deut. 8:3; Ps. 19:7-11; Is. 40:8; Jn. 14:26; I Cor. 2:7-14; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21; Heb. 1:1-2)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:26; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19; Jn. 1:1-3;1 Cor. 8:6; 1 Pet. 1:1-2; 1 Jn. 5:5-12).
- We believe that the Father is presented as the Eternal Father of the Son and the One from whom the Spirit proceeds (Jn. 1:14; 8:38-42; 15:26; 16:15; 17:5). We believe God is the Creator of all things (Gen. 1:1-31), that He is the Father of all true believers (Gal. 4:6), that He is the author and designer of redemption (Ps. 2:7-9; Ephesians 1:3-14); and that He hears and answers the believers’ prayers (Jn. 16:23-27)
- We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man, and the only Mediator between God and man (Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Lk. 1:26-38; Jn. 1:1-14; Gal. 4:4; 1 Tim. 2:5; Tit. 2:11-14). In His incarnation we believe Jesus was sinless (2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:14-16; 7:26).
We believe in the literal resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus Christ, in His ascension into Heaven and in His heavenly state where He serves as our interceding High Priest (Matt. 28:1-6; Mk. 16:1-14; Lk. 24; Jn. 20; Jn. 21; Acts 1:10-11; Acts 2:22-36; 1 Cor. 15:1-9; Heb. 7:23-28).
- We believe that the Holy Spirit is the blessed third person of the Triune God (Matt. 28:19; Acts 5:3,4); that He possesses the traits of personality and deity (1 Cor. 2:10-15; 12:9-13); that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment (Jn. 16:8-11); that He brings new life to those who were once dead in sins (Jn. 3:5), and that He indwells, baptizes, seals, empowers, guides, teaches, sanctifies the believer, and gives gifts to God’s children for the edification of the church (1 Cor. 6:11, 19; 12:7-13; 14:6-12; Eph. 3:16; 4:30; Rom. 8:14)
- We believe that the death of the Lord Jesus Christ is the permanent sacrifice for our sins, and that all who believe in Him are freed from the bondage and penalty of sin and made acceptable to God on the grounds of Christ’s shed blood. We believe that by grace we are saved not of works lest any should boast (Acts 16:31; Eph. 1:5-12; 2:8-13; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; 1 Jn. 1:7; Rev. 1:5; 12:11).
- We believe that all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are by faith born again of the Holy Spirit, are a new creation with a new nature, thereby becoming children of God, and that all believers are indwelt and baptized by the Holy Spirit into the spiritual body of Christ which is the church of which Christ is the head (Jn. 1:12-13; 3:3-7; 14:16-17; 1 Cor. 12:12-13; 2 Cor. 5:17; Col. 1:18,24).
- We believe in the eternal security of all who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation (Jn. 3:16, 36; 10:28-29; Rom. 8:35-39; 2 Tim. 1:12; Jude 1).
We believe that Satan is a person, a fallen angel, the author of temptation and sin. We believe Satan is the enemy of God and man, and that he will suffer eternal, conscious punishment in the Lake of Fire (Eze. 28:11-19; Jn. 8:44; 1 Jn. 3:8; Rev.. 12:9-11; 20:10).
We believe that man, male and female, was created in the image of God and that humanity sinned and thereby incurred God’s punishment of spiritual death, which is separation from God. Humanity, now born into and polluted by sin is incapable of pleasing God apart from faith (Gen. 1:27, 31; 2:6-17; Rom. 5:12; 1 Cor. 15:21-22; Heb. 11:6). We believe that God gifted humans with the institution of marriage which is a covenant relationship between a biological man/male and woman/female (Gen. 2:23-25; Matt. 19:4-6; Eph. 5:22-33).
We believe that the Church is comprised of all born-again followers of Jesus, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the spiritual body of Christ, and that a local New Testament church consists of a company of baptized believers who have obediently associated themselves together for worship, for instruction, for service, for the evangelism of the lost, and for encouraging and building up one another (Matt. 28:16-20; Acts 1:8; 2:41; II Cor. 12:13; Phil. 1:1; Col. 1:2; Heb. 10:24-25). The local church is responsible only to Christ as its head and chief authority, and that God appoints elders to steward and shepherd the local church which is under His sovereign care. The church may engage in associations for common ends which do not exercise authority over the local assembly (1 Tim. 2:5; Eph. 5:23; 2 Cor. 8:1-19; Phil. 4:15; Tit. 1:5-9).
We believe that Holy Communion (The Lord’s Supper) and water baptism by immersion are sacraments/ordinances to be observed in the church. These sacraments are not to be regarded as a means of salvation, but rather as public testimony of one’s faith in Christ (Matt. 26:26-29; 28:19-20; Acts 8:34-39; Acts 16:30-33; Rom. 6:3-11; 1 Cor. 11:20-34).
- We believe in the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, and when Christ returns He will establish a literal and visible millennial Kingdom (Is. 9:6; 24:22-23; Zech. 14:4; Acts 1:10-11; Jude 14-15; Rev. 20)
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and lost. The saved shall appear in heaven at the judgment seat of Christ to receive rewards and to dwell with Him for all eternity. The lost shall be judged at the great white throne and be cast into the lake of fire to suffer eternal punishment (Lk. 24:36-44; Jn. 5:29; Acts 24:15; 1 Cor. 3:11-15; 2 Cor. 5:10; 1Thess. 4:13-18; 2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Jn. 3:1-3; 2 Jn. 8; Rev. 20:11-15).
On July 16th, 2023 the congregations of Grace Bible Fellowship and Lexington Bible Fellowship voted to merge together to form Grace Bible Church, a community which is is firmly rooted in the Grace of God, the Authority of the Bible, and being a Christ-centered Church.
